    Step In The Right Direction

    This is long overdue, considering I traveled down to Pueblo a month ago, but here we go…

    Months ago after going to a Colorado Rockies game with a friend I’ve known for years, she offered to teach me all that she’s learned about the photography industry, while we were wandering downtown after the game. She told me that most of what she learned was when she was interning/shadowing another photographer and she gave me the invitation because she trusts me and thought that it would help me down the road if I ever decided to go into the business professionally.

    After mauling it over all summer, I finally decided to take her up on the offer – even though I still don’t know if I want to pursue photography as a career – and she asked me to join her for a wedding in late September.

    An Open Letter To The Invisible Girl

    Hello beautiful,

    This is a letter to you, to someone who thinks she isn’t good enough for anyone because she’s known as invisible.

    There are many of you in the world and every one of you have your own story, a story that means to be shared to someone special, whether it be a close friend, your best girl/guy friend, or a potential boyfriend – I know, the latter sounds I’m stretching a bit. I know not all of you have been in a relationship before and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that; in fact, it makes you even more special to that someone who will finally see you as the incredible woman you are. You have been broken into pieces and you’re struggling to put yourself back together. Time is the ultimate healer and pairing time with good and faithful friendships will help you get back to where you want to be.

    Women’s Pressure to Be Perfect

    Females nowadays are pressured more to be accepted into society and they pay a heavy price to be able to. Not just the mass media, but all of the American society has created the image that women have to be a certain pant/dress size, wear certain brands of clothes and makeup, being tan, — I mean, I can go on for days — yet what the media portrays beauty, not even the models are considered perfect. This is because photos are Photoshopped to a degree where even the model states “that’s not what I actually look like” and they post the original photo outtake from the photoshoot to show that they’re not as perfect as everyone else is.
